Nachlese zur ESU-Mitgliederversammlung 2012 / General Meeting 2012
Looking back to two interesting days in the European capital
Strasbourg and the General Meetings in 2012 were
and with regard to 2013 are worth a trip! This view of
the mood among the participants was objective after
two days full of working sessions, event programmes
and a lot of time for networking.
Nearly eighty ESU members from Italy, the Netherlands,
France, Switzerland and Germany had been travelling
to Strasbourg despite the bad weather forecasts in the
previous days. Friday morning was scheduled for ESU
and ESU France Board Meetings as well as for meetings
of the Study Groups regarding the subject “Compendium
of diemaking”.
The sun and the mood brightened in the afternoon.
That was in particular when Dr. Hesse succeeded in
implementing the necessary increased contributions and
the successful replacement respectively reoccupation
of the available positions of the FDS Board members.
Dr. Hesse was reappointed as Chairman, Marc Butenuth
as 3. Chairman, Olaf Abendroth as treasurer and Harald
Stangenberg as secretary. Stefan Kiermeier has been
newly appointed as 2. Chairman of the FDS Board.
Edith Budaschik, the former 2. Chairman, unfortunately
was no longer available for re-appointment after three
years’ terms of office. Dr. Hesse and the Board members
thanked Edith with a bouquet of flowers.
The following ESU General Meeting was translated
simultaneously into English, French and German.
Through the reports submitted by the Board and the
Chairmen of the Regional Associations one could not see
and feel any sign of joy despite the positive economic
data regarding cost-/price development!
To counteract the pressure on prices of the major clients
in the packaging industry will be a further serious task
for our manufacturer’s members. To control the costs
but remain up-to-date in technics and employee training
is urgently needed. The latter especially in view of the
demographic development of the population, the personnel
resources.
