Es ist ein Land, beseelt von Frischköpfen, so lautet der
Slo gan der Metropolregion: „ Wir stehen für offene Menschen,
frisches Denken und mutiges Handeln.“ Frische und
Weite prägen den Nordwesten und seine Menschen.
Nachhaltig, sagt man heute. Der Oldenburger Philosoph
Karl Jaspers hat das so ausgedrückt: „Nichts als Himmel,
Horizont und ein Ort, wo ich stehe. Der Himmel offen nach
allen Seiten. Diese Weite ist schon Landschaft, ist schon
nicht mehr Meer, aber ihm noch nahe.“ Ihn ließ die Landschaft,
das flache Land seiner Kindheit und Jugend, nicht
mehr los. Dort stößt man nicht an. Dort verstellt nichts den
Blick.

Freshness and openness is characteristic of the North-
West and its people. Sustainable, they say today. The philosopher
Karl Jaspers from Oldenburg put it this way:
“Nothing but the sky, the horizon and a place where I
stand. The heavens open on all sides. This infinite space
is landscape, is no longer the sea, but very close to it.” The
landscape, the flat countryside of his childhood and youth
wouldn’t let him go. There is nothing to strike against
there. Nothing to obstruct the view there.

hiesigen Natur und schonen die Umwelt. Zudem sind wir
mit unserem Hauptwerk und der Firmen zentrale hier be -
heimatet. Das hält die Wege für die Kartoffeln kurz und die
Ware bleibt umso frischer – das schätzen unsere Kunden

I like living and working in North-West Germany.
For me, the best part of the North-West is the Wildeshauser
Geest as it quite literally provides the foundations for our success.
Why? As one of the leading manufacturers of speciality
potatoes in Europe, we need one thing more than anything
else: the best potatoes. Without them, we wouldn’t have all the
tasty chips and other delicious specialities that we produce
and send out into the world from this location. Croquettes, potato
pancakes, Rösti (fried grated potatoes) – all made from
potatoes which have been cultivated in this fantastic region by
dedicated farmers. By the way, they are grown according to
strict rules governing sustainability and nature conservation.
This demonstrates our love for the local nature and we protect
the environment. In addition, our main plant and company
headquarters are also based here. This keeps the potato route
short and the goods remain all the fresher – our customers
particularly appreciate that! You can see: we don’t just have our
roots here in North-West Germany but we also ensure growth!
