What is the Major Project Roadblock?
RM&IC is not on EC´s radar screen

Forum:
“while confirming that companies´boards
are responsible for monitoring
the effectiveness of internal
control systems, the ECGF considers
that there is no need to introduce a
legal obligation for boards to certify
the effectiveness of internal controls at
EU level”.
RDM presented the suggested Scope
of Future Action Plan:
In addition to lobbying the EX, actively
promoting the contribution
of our profession to enhanced
Corporate Governance in the EU
with other stakeholders for effective
organisational governance and
risk management processes in the
EU.
These targeted (other) Stakeholder
are: external auditors: FEE; boards:
European Confederation of Directors´,
management:
BUSSINESSEUROPE; securities
regulators: Committee of European
Securities Regulators (CESR);
investors: European Forum of Securities
Associations (EFSA); securities
exchanges: Federation of
European Securities Exchanges
(FESE)
Coordination of Advocacy efforts
with ECIIA Member Institutes
Suggested Roadmap:
Clearly assign advocacy responsibilities
in each member institute
and submit name to EXIIA (
before and Q3//2007)
Closely monitor CG-initiatives in
ECIIA member countries (cf.
translation of EU directives in
national laws)
Deploy PR-activities (joint seminars/working
groups,..) with
national counterparts of targeted
stakeholders at EU-level
and/or members of the European
Corporate Governance Forum/Advisory
Group
Quarterly reporting national advocacy
initiatives to ECIIA
