Permeable wall covers
For wall roofs so called gauzes
are used very often. This
is a translucent textile.

Often the apparent permeability
of this textile is pointed
out and sometimes the corresponding
wind loads are reduced.
Wind tunnel tests
showed that a reduction of
the wind loads is only permissible
for very coarsely meshed
(5 x 5 cm) textiles. For
the typical gauzes that are
used nowadays a reduction
of the wind load is not permissible.
The often indicated
value of air permeability
does not mean necessarily
that the gauze is wind permeable.
A wind permeability
may only be taken into account
if a cf-value that has
been tested in a wind tunnel
for that type of gauze is
given by the manufacturer.
