Auf die Frage, warum KRONE eine große Rolle im TIP-
Fuhrpark spielt, nennt Peter Sijs zwei wesentliche
Aspekte: Zum einen sei KRONE ein verlässlicher, starker
Partner, mit dem die Zusammenarbeit gut funktioniere.
Gute Wiederverkaufswerte und hohe Kundenakzeptanz
sprächen für die Fahrzeuge aus Werlte, aber auch die
hohe Flexibilität bei Krone sei enorm wichtig. „Hier
können Sie auch im Produktionsprozess noch eingreifen“,
berichtet er. Der zweite Aspekt, den Peter Sijs hervorhebt,
geht zurück auf die anfangs gemachten Wachstumsprognosen:
„Fahrer und Strecke sind vor allem im
Osten robuster, da brauchen wir einfach gutes, beanspruchbares
Material“, erklärt der Vermiet-Profi, „bei
KRONE haben wir eine sehr solide Qualität zu einem
fairen Preis.“ Der abschließende Ausblick ist ein guter:
eine Vergrößerung des TIP-Trailerfuhrparks vor allem
in Osteuropa mit der starken Unterstützung von
KRONE-Fahrzeugen.

developing market? The answer is „rental services“:
Vehicle availability at short notice without long-term
commitments, unproblematic modifications and
specifications – everything can be flexibly adapted to
the economic and customer requirements. One of the
most important European rental companies for
trucks, trailers and semitrailers is GE TIP Trailer
Services with its headquarters in Amsterdam.
Founded in 1966 as „Transport Pool Inc.“ and
presently part of GE Equipment Services, the
traditional renter has more than 100 depots in 23
countries. About 74,000 TIP units are running on
Europe’s roads. About 40 percent of the vehicles
pulled come from KRONE - drifting upwards.
Therefore Peter Sijs, Sourcing Leader of GE TIP Trailer,
used the opportunity to inform himself at the KRONE
IAA stands about trends, technology and innovations.
He reported there: „We have a stable, expanding
situation in Benelux, South and Central Europe. In
Eastern Europe we even expect very strong growth
rates.” Here, the classical dry liner, which can be
rented at short notice, still is very popular, or, as Sijs
calls it, the “perfectly happy trailer”. In the portfolio
of TIP there is, however, any conceivable variant
available: dry liners, flatbed, curtain, and box-type
semitrailers. The customer has the choice between
refrigerated semitrailers, container chassis,
swap bodies and trailers,

tank semitrailers and last not least tractor units.
The terms of lease are just as versatile: short-term
and long-term rental, in standard format or with the
customer’s logo and colours, with limited or
comprehensive insurance cover, with 24 h breakdown
service, TÜV inspection on site, if required, coupled to
regular maintenance.
The question why KRONE plays a great part in the GE
TIP fleet is answered by Peter Sijs with two essential
arguments: On the one hand KRONE is a reliable and
strong partner with whom the cooperation works
well. Good resale values and high customer
acceptance are in favour of the KRONE vehicles, but
the high flexibility at Krone is very important, too.
„We may even intervene with the production
process“, he said. The second argument stressed by
Peter Sijs is based upon the growth forecasts
mentioned above: „Drivers and roads are more robust
mainly in the Eastern countries, we therefore need
good and durable material”, the professional renter
explains. “KRONE offers very good quality at fair
prices.” The concluding perspective is good: an
expansion of the GE TIP trailer fleet mainly in
Eastern Europe with a strong support by KRONE
vehicles.
