Its production facilities in Steyr and Vienna have be longed to the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group since 1989 and 1971, respectively, and the Steyr location is now a competence centre for the development and production of light to medium-size lorries. Der Standort Steyr ist heute Kompetenzzentrum für Entwicklung und Fertigung von leichten und mittelschweren LKW. Hier werden alle MAN LKW zwischen 6 und 18 Tonnen Gesamtgewicht produziert, außerdem laufen LKW der Marken STEYR, STAR (Polen) und ERF (Großbritannien) vom Montageband. AUSTRIAEXPORT The Rosenbauer Group is the world’s leading outfi tter of fi re-brigade vehicles. Der Rosenbauer-Konzern ist weltweit DER Feuerwehr-Komplettausstatter tain). At the Liesing factory in Vienna, mass-produced components are used to manufacture special types of vehicles, such as heavy-duty tractors with total pulling weights of up to 250 tonnes, and chassis for military vehicles with up to four axles and 600 HP. One of the world’s largest manufacturers of fi re-brigade vehicles, Rosenbauer International AG expects a record year thanks to considerable growth in export business. In 2006, sales should increase by 10% (2005: 321.3 mn euros), the EBIT by 15% (2005: 19.6 mn euros). Business from the US market grew by 7% to 50 mn euros. Sales of the Spanish subsidiary have tripled, primarily as a result of orders from the domestic market, to 9.1 mn euros. They are fairly evenly distributed among product lines, markets and regions, and small and medium-sized ones predominate. To deal with the boom, Rosenbauer has expanded and changed the focus of production capacity at its Leonding location over the past few months. Late in September 2006, the new logistics centre, which cost over 8 mn euros to construct, was offi cially opened. Stockerau’s M-U-T Ges.m.b.H. (founded in 1932, its specialities are machines, environmental technology and transportation equipment) started manufacturing vehicles in 1955 with the fi rst garbage truck ever. Today, M-U-T makes a wide range of products relating to street-cleansing vehicles, and extensive know-how is the reason for its success on the international market. Its vehicle product line makes M-U-T the market leader in Austria and Hungary, and the company has had ISO 9001 certifi cation since 1994. ❚ zugmaschinen mit bis zu 250 Tonnen Gesamtzuggewicht und Fahrgestelle für den Militäreinsatz mit bis zu vier Achsen und 600 PS Leistung. Als einer der weltweit größten Hersteller von Feuerwehrfahrzeugen rechnet die Rosenbauer International AG dank satter Zuwächse im Exportgeschäft mit einem „absoluten Rekordjahr“. Der Umsatz soll 2006 gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 10 % (2005: 321,3 Mio. Euro), das EBIT um 15 % (2005: 19,6 Mio. Euro) gesteigert werden. Das US-Segment konnte mit einem Umsatzplus von 7 % auf 50 Mio. Euro aufwarten. Die spanische Gesellschaft hat den Umsatz vor allem wegen der Lieferungen am Heimmarkt auf 9,1 Mio. Euro verdreifacht. Die Auftragsentwicklung ist über alle Produktsegmente, Märkte und Regionen gestreut, die Struktur setzt sich vor allem aus vielen kleineren und mittelgroßen Aufträgen zusammen. Um den Boom bewältigen zu können, hat Rosenbauer in den vergangenen Monaten seine Produktionskapazitäten am Standort Leonding erweitert und neu ausgerichtet. Ende September 2006 wurde das neue Logistikzentrum, dessen Ausbau mehr als 8 Mio. Euro gekostet hat, eröffnet. Die Stockerauer M-U-T Ges.m.b.H. (gegründet 1932, Maschinen – Umwelttechnik – Transportanlagen) initiierte 1955 mit dem Bau des ersten Müllwagens die Sparte „Fahrzeugbau“. Heute ist M-U-T Anbieter einer umfangreichen Palette auf dem Gebiet der Kommunalfahrzeuge und kann sich durch sein langjähriges Know-how gerade auch auf dem internationalen Markt erfolgreich behaupten.
