The roots of the business association WILD
GmbH date back to the developing of the
optical industry in Europe. Since the foundation
in 2003, the business association could
establish itself as development and production
partner for national and international

The association, consisting of WILD Austria,
WILD Medtec, WILD Electronics and
PHOTONIC GmbH, concentrates technical
know-how and competences in different
technology sectors, such as medical technology,
the semiconductor industry, technical
optics and the aerospace industry.
The WILD Medtec GmbH, that is located in
Vienna, is the development and marketing
company of the SDO, the Scanning Digital
Ophtalmoscope, a new instrument for ophthalmology.
It enables the ophthalmologist to
capture excellent, high contrast images from
anterior and fundus eye mediums in realtime.
Additionally to the use of these images
for diagnosis, this device also can be adapted
for therapeutic purposes with a laser. ❚
