„Throughout all the time I have been making jewellery, one thing has held my attention
more than anything else: the creative process. Conscious of the fact that my
approach is extremely freewheeling and highly intuitive, I invariably end up wondering
why I took the decisions I did. Some times, I am at a loss for an explanation. It
is almost as though some alien force were telling me what to do - I was merely the
messenger. Other times, my decision was a considered act of mindfulness.
On starting my master‘s degree in jewellery design in Germany in 2010, I endeavoured
to keep track of my own creative process. Today, I know I am not what one
could term an ordinary designer. I never make any preliminary sketches; I do not
work that way. I give free rein to the ideas running through my head and compose
my own mental picture (sometimes I even write things down). Rarely, however,
does the material outcome, the piece of jewellery, coincide with what I had originally
imagined.“
Currently living in Barcelona, Spain, as a freelance artist and designer for Vincent
Par Je wellery.
