“Time either flies too fast or drags past all too slow. I am always late, trying to postpone<br />
getting old, but always in a hurry to experience more of life. I am always<br />
tired, always on the road, running towards one finishing line or another, but forever<br />
wanting to stop, get some sleep, smell the flowers and just breathe. The<br />
present always seems to be slipping away. I look forward to the future,<br />
yet I am trapped in the past. I am obsessed with time, with the spontaneity,<br />
the uniqueness and irreversibility of each moment and how all this can be passed<br />
on from my hands to the pieces of jewellery I make.“<br />
Izabella Petrut is a contemporary jewellery designer. She acquired her practical<br />
and theoretical skills by completing a Bachelor‘s (2007) and a Master‘s (2009) degree<br />
in design at the University of Arts and Design, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She is<br />
a graduate of the GJ3 Specialisation Programme at Alchimia, School of Contemporary<br />
Jewellery, Florence, Italy (2012) run by Professor Ruudt Peters. At present,<br />
she is pursuing her doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. She is<br />
also a member of the Atelier STOSSIMHIMMEL in Vienna.<br />
