Eine nordische Küche mit einem
Touch aus Spanien und Italien
hat sich seit kurzem in unserer bunten
Hauptstadt etabliert. Der finnische
Spitzenkoch Sauli Kemppainen und
Gastgeber Vedad Hadziabdic haben seit
April ihr erstes Restaurant SAVU
am Kurfürstendamm 160 im Hotel
Louisa’s Place eröffnet. Die exellente
Küche des nordischen Restaurants
tanzt bewusst etwas aus der Reihe. So
verzichtet Kemppainen auf die klassische
Folge Vorspeise – Hauptgericht
– Dessert. Vielmehr portioniert er die
Teller so, dass man sich ein Menü aus
vier bis fünf Gerichten selbst zusammenstellen
kann, je nach Appetit und
Laune. Und dass der Finne frischen
Nordwind in die Stadt bringt, ist kein
Wunder, denn für ihn als kulinarischer
Botschafter seines Landes ist es
ein persönliches Bedürfnis. www.savu.
Nordic cuisine with a touch of Spain
and Italy has recently established itself in the
colourful capital city. In April, top Finnish
chef Sauli Kemppainen and host Vedad Hadziabdic
opened their first SAVU restaurant
on the Kurfürstendamm in the Hotel Louisa’s
Place. Kemppainen deliberately avoids the
classic sequence of starter, main course and
dessert. He prefers to divide the plate in such
a way that guests can put together their own
menu with four or five dishes according to
their mood and appetite. www.savu.berlin
Mein Lieblingsitaliener, wenn
es einmal unkompliziert und
locker von statten gehen soll: Die
Italofritzen an der Friedrichstraße.
Ich mag besonders die offene Küche,
die Terrasse mit Blick aufs Wasser und
den großen goldenen Steinofen, für
die wohl beste Pizza der Stadt. Auch
die hausgemachten Nudeln sind sehr
fein. Fuchtige Tomaten, frischer Mozzarella,
Parmesan und gutes Olivenöl
kommen hier direkt aus ihrer Heimat
Italien, denn Qualität und Frische, die
man schmecken kann, ist bei den Italofritzen
oberstes Gebot. Hier spürt man
die echte Gastfreundschaft Italiens und
gleichzeitig ein urbanes Ambiente, das
modern und eben auch typisch Berlin
ist. Mein Tipp, auch zum Frühstück perfekt!
Most people have their own favourite
Italian, which is the place they visit when
there is nothing to eat at home or they are on
the way to a party. The Italofritzen on Friedrichstraße
might be such a venue, because
anyone who loves what is good and simple, or
simply good, is welcome here. They get their
fruity tomatoes, fresh creamy mozarella, parmesan
and excellent olive oil from their own
homeland, because putting quality and freshness
that you can taste onto the table is Italofritzen’s
top priority. www.italofritzen.com
Aus dem Stand fünfzehn Gault-
Millau-Punkte. Wow.
Casual Fine
Dining und Barfood rund um Saisonale
und regionale Küche und eine internationale
Stilistik, sowie über 160 Weine und
über 100 Gins. Bitte unbedingt vorreservieren.
And for everyone who has not yet
heard the news, the hotspot called the »Weinbar
Schwein« has reopened. This wonderful bar is
now located in Charlottenburg, and the crew led
by chef and host David Monnie are once more
on hand to pamper their guests with an outstanding
selection of wines and culinary
delights. www.schwein.online
For anyone who is on the lookout for
a location for a good drink at the end of the
day, or simply to spend a convivial evening
with friends, I recommend the Monkey Bar on
the 10th floor of the 25hours Hotels. You can
really enjoy great mixed drinks and fine wines
while taking in a breath-taking view over the
city. www.monkeybarberlin.de
