RS 1 in der Metropolregion Ruhr werden diese Entwicklung unterstützen.
Heike Heim: E-Mobilität wird in den nächsten Jahren eine wichtige
Rolle für die Verkehrswende spielen. In unserer Stadt ebnen
wir den Weg. Bis 2021 werden an Dortmunder Straßenleuchten
500 neue Ladepunkte für E-Autos entstehen, 200 weitere in der
Region. Stadt und DEW21 sind Partner des mit Bundesmitteln geförderten
NOx-Block-Projekts. Was das E-Bike angeht, wird der
Radschnellweg RS1 den Pott weiter ins Rollen bringen. Bei den
kostenlosen DEW21-Touren zum diesjährigen Festival können
Radler schon mal ein Stück Probe fahren.
Bernhard Lange: Die Elektromobilität wird im Jahr 2025 eine zentrale
Rolle in Verkehrs- und Mobilitätskonzepten auf allen Ebenen
– lokal, landes- und bundesweit wie auch international – spielen.
Und wir erwarten, dass auch 2025 noch ein großer Teil dieser
Elektromobilität tatsächlich in Form von E-Bikes bzw. Pedelecs
stattfinden wird. Zwar präsentieren derzeit viele namhafte Automobilhersteller
neue Hybrid- und Elektromodelle. Bis diese aber
in signifikanten Stückzahlen die Fahrzeuge mit Verbrennungsmotor
ablösen können, wird noch einige Zeit vergehen. Zudem ist
gerade in urbanen Ballungsgebieten die Luftqualität nur eine Seite
der – leider trüben – Medaille. Die andere ist die Stau-Problematik,
die Elektroautos in genau demselben Maße betrifft wie PKW
mit Verbrennungsmotor. Abhilfe kann hier vor allem der Umstieg
aufs E-Bike schaffen.

3. Dortmund galt in der Vergangenheit stets als Autostadt.
Was macht die E-Mobilität in einer Stadt wie Dortmund
aus und wie hat sich das Thema in dieser Zeit
von 2016 bis heute entwickelt?

Ullrich Sierau: Das Thema E-Mobilität hat in Dortmund eine rasante
Entwicklung genommen. Schon 2011 hat der Rat der Stadt die
Einrichtung eines Lenkungskreises Elektromobilität beschlossen.
Und auf unseren eingeschlagenen Wegen zur „Smart City“ und
„Emissionsfreien Innenstadt” wird E-Mobilität eine immer größer
werdende Rolle einnehmen. Nur zwei Beispiele: Die Zahl der öffentlich
nutzbaren Ladestationen haben wir kontinuierlich erhöht und
werden das auch weiterhin tun, auch die städtische Fahrzeugflotte
wird sukzessive umgerüstet. Der aktuelle Sachstandsbericht zur
„Smart City Dortmund“ weist unter www.smartcity.dortmund.de
zahlreiche weitere Projekte aus.
Heike Heim: Electromobility will play an important role in the new
transport patterns of the future. In out city we are laying the foundations.
By 2021 there will be 500 new electric car charging stations
at lampposts throughout the city, with a further 200 in the
surrounding region. Dortmund city council and DEW21 are partners
of the state-supported NOx Block Project. As far as e-bikes
are concerned, we are currently in the process of building the
RS1 cycle superhighway leading through the region. Visitors to
this year’s E – BIKE Festival can hire an e-bike and test it along a
section of the superhighway.
Bernhard Lange: In the year 2025, electric mobility will play a
central role in traffic and mobility concepts at all levels – local,
regional and national as well as international. We expect that even
in 2025 a large proportion of this electromobility will actually take
place in the form of e-bikes or pedelecs. Many well-known automobile
manufacturers are currently presenting new hybrid and
electric models. However, it will be some time before these can
replace vehicles with internal combustion engines in significantnumbers.
Moreover, especially in urban agglomerations, poor air
quality is only one side of the coin. The other side is the congestion
problem, which affects electric cars to exactly the same extent
as cars with internal combustion engines. The main solution
here is to switch to an e-bike.

3. In the past, Dortmund was always regarded as
a car city. What makes e-mobility so special in
a city like Dortmund and how has the area developed
from 2016 to the present day?

Ullrich Sierau: The subject of e-mobility has undergone rapid development
in Dortmund. As early as 2011, the city council decided
to set up an electromobility committee. E-mobility will also
play an increasingly important role in our journey to becoming
a "smart city" and having an "emission-free city centre". Let me
give you just two examples. We have continuously increased the
number of public charging stations and will continue to do so, and
the municipal vehicle fleet is also being gradually converted to
