Beijing International Automotive Expo, Peking/China
Beijing International Automotive Expo, Peking/China
Ausstellungsgeländes entsteht in geometrischer
Analogie zu der verbotenen Stadt ein
rechteckiger Themenpark, in dessen topographischer
Landschaft Markenpavillons angeordnet
sind.
The Beijing International Automotive Expo is
one of some 60 major projects that will
showcase the city to the world during the
2008 Olympic Games. The permanent
exhibition featuring all of the global brands will
be constructed on a 148 acre site to the
south-west of the city.
The visitor will experience automotive
diversity in a journey backwards and forwards
through time. This is the idea behind the
overall layout, topography and individual
building functions. A dramatic serpentine
course will rise from a museum to a university
dedicated to automotive technology. In
addition to the central automotive museum,
there are plans to build service buildings for
the car manufacturers, branch offices, full
service dealerships, hotels and shopping
malls. In the middle of the exhibition area, the
rectangular boundaries of the topographical
landscape of a theme park with pavilions for
the various brands will recall the forbidden
city.
