The Automotive Cluster (AC)
of Upper Austria is the largest
partnership network in the
Austrian automobile sector
and an accelerator of innovation
for technology development.
Within the network of
top quality companies the AC
performs an important role for
the partners as the organiser
and initiator of cooperation
projects, and as the point
of contact for international
organisations and agents for
business links and cooperation
opportunities.
The future is electric -
with technology from
Upper Austria.
Under sponsorship from the
Climate and Energy Fund,
the flagship project CMO
(Clean Motion Offensive) will
take inexpensive e-mobility
components from 12 partner
companies and develop a
simple useable infrastructure
and potential business model
for the automotive industry:
Key enabling technologies
for electric mobility; Software
for efficient operation; Subcomponents
for series production;
and Concepts used
for everyday application.

As an integral part of the Economic
Strategy: Styria 2020
“Growth through Innovation”,
the AC Styria will pursue the
goal of promoting Styria as
an automotive region that
produces innovative technologies
and sustainable
solutions to reduce the environmental
burden of mobility.
The focal points are ECO-
Power Trains, ECO-Materials
and ECO- Design & Smart
Production. Styria is a centre
of innovation in the automotive
field and the pursuit of
visionary goals are essential
to maintaining a leading position.

been defined, that will provide
the main future focus for
the cluster:

Mobility Cluster Vienna
The ignition key to
success
A 300 km swathe of central
Europe is developing into a
veritable “Silicon Valley of the
automotive industry”. In order
to enable Viennese companies
to retain their position
among the major beneficiaries
of this economic region, the
Mobility Cluster provides an
active cooperation platform for
connecting to growth markets.
Unlimited training targeting
actual needs
As early as 2009, the Vienna
Business Agency’s Mobility
Cluster already provided the
“Professional MBA - Automotive
Industry”, a study course
for future automotive industry
managers, by means of crossregional
cooperation between
TU Vienna and TU Bratislava. It
also provides à la carte training
to automotive sector producers
and suppliers: The wide range
of courses available from the
Vienna Region Automotive
Academy reinforces companies’
innovativeness and
competitiveness. Together
with Györ University and UAS
Technikum Wien, the Cluster is
currently planning a Bachelor’s
degree course with a focus on
electrically powered vehicles.
