Das Brandenburger
Tor ist das Wahrzeichen
Berlins. Der dreißig
Jahre lang vermauerte
Haupteingang der Stadt
war ein in aller Welt
bekanntes Symbol für
die Teilung der Stadt und
die Teilung der Welt in
zwei Machtblöcke. Das
heutige internationale
Publikum am Pariser Platz
möchte diesen wichtigen
Zugang wieder erleben
und die lang verwehrte
Freiheit genießen, dieses
großartige Kunstwerk zu
durchschreiten und es von
nahem zu bestaunen.
Die Siegessäule wurde
erbaut, um den militärischen
Erfolg Preußens
über Dänemark zu feiern.
Im Jahre 1938 wurde
die Siegessäule - die bis
dahin vor dem Reichstag
stand - an ihren heutigen
Standort in der Mitte des
Tiergartens umgesetzt.
Die Siegessäule hat eine
Höhe von 61,5m und bietet
eine herrliche Aussicht
auf Berlin. Die Spitze der
Siegessäule wird von einer
Statue der Siegesgöttin
Viktoria geschmückt. Diese
wurde von F. Drake nach
dem Modell seiner Tochter
Margarethe geschaffen
und wiegt eindrucksvolle
35 Tonnen.

its place in front of the

The Victory Column is
61.5m high and provides
excellent views of Berlin
from the center of
Tiergarten. The statue
of the victory goddess
Viktoria that stands on top
of the Victory Column was
created by F. Drake after
the model of his daughter
Margarethe and weighs an
impressive 35 tones.
