IMPROVISATION IN TRAINING AND VISION FOR ZONAL
Training is the foundation of every
organization, it may be civil or armed. It is a
multi-fold, multi-level process of development and
progress. In modern combat environment, forces
like CRPF require skill levels that are more varied
and are of higher order than in past. In present
scenario situation demands an optimization of
training resources- “A Return On Investment” that
results in a high level of efficiency and readiness, at
the lowest possible cost and in the shortest time.
To accomplish this goal, special attention needs to
be paid regarding improvement and up-gradation
of training to effectively deal with high operational
tempo and increasingly complex operational
environment.
Starting with the very first level of training i.e.
Basic Training, it is necessary to touch every aspect
and dimension of our organization and presently
that is very well going. It is very much similar to
the situation of a medical student which completes
his MBBS, touching every field of medical science.
But then comes the needs for specialization.
Conventional warfare techniques alone are not
sufficient enough, it need to be accompanied by
special warfare techniques in accordance with

the present scenario. This can be included in
the In-Service Courses, Specialized Courses,
Promotional Courses and other additional
courses.
“Change Is The Only Constant” - it is evident
that alteration in social, economical, psychological
& technical aspects and conditions are inevitable and
similarly idealism, modus-operandi and approach
of anti-national elements are also changing with
time. Hence in the same way knowledge level of
force personnel needs to be updated regularly. In
this regard Anti-Virus System is a best example
before us. No matter how strong the anti-virus was
at the time of installation, it needs to be updated
regularly to tackle new viruses and in the absence
of proper update, its efficiency is affected, resulting
in damage to the computer system. In the same
manner force personnel in CRPF need proper
update of knowledge related to special zones &
specific area of operation, no matter how much
proficiency he has shown in earlier stages of his
service. In this direction Establishment of Zonal
Specific Theatre Training Centre is an appreciable
approach.
