Community Singers
Singers will be on break for the summer
months. We will be having our first
meeting on Monday, September 24, at
5 pm in the Montecito ballroom. We have a music-filled
season planned for 2012/2013.
The Community Singers 2012/2013 board is made up
of Sally Bozzo, President; Ken Hailpern, Vice-President;
Eileen Heckel, Secretary; Robin Zimmerman, Treasurer.
If you wish to get more information, please contact
President Sally Bozzo at sally@bozzo.net.
Our holiday program is scheduled for December 9; and
an exciting spring concert is scheduled for April 7, 2013.
Keep watching The View for new details.
Have a wonderful summer, and happy singing!
Computer Club
With the club unable to fill all of its
board positions to continue operating,
the Lifestyle team will step in to help keep
the exciting array of classes going on an as needed basis.
We filled all the officer slots except that of President.
Unfortunately, our HOA rules require a club to have a
president and we couldn’t find a volunteer to replace
Mike Nilsson, our “irreplaceable” president of three years.
He saved the club from extinction in 2009, bringing the
membership up from about 35 to the current 252.
Half of those 252 are Apple users who became members
as a direct result of Gary Mencimer’s dedication and
advanced Apple knowledge. He put on a ton of Apple
classes for people of all skill levels (including one 90-yearold
with an iPad!)
Dwight Carlson deserves a lot of credit for four years
of keeping track of pretty much everything and making
the club run like a finely tuned Swiss watch.
We look forward to seeing all of you in the fall and
watch for announcements and information on upcoming
classes.
Concerts 4U
Summer is just about here and things
have slowed down considerably. But . . .
Concerts 4U continues to entertain you
and plan for next season’s events. Sir Laffs A Lot is still
providing wonderful comedians for your entertainment.
The series tickets (with reserved seating) are on sale for
our 2012/2013 season.
Congratulations to the new board of Concerts 4U:
Cathie Riddle-Weiser, President; Barbara Dutton, Vice
President; Julie Johnston, Treasurer; and Judy Baker,
Secretary. A big thank you to our outstanding board who
led us through a fabulous year of entertainment. We are
confident that our new board will follow in their footsteps
and grow our club to bigger and better heights.
Thank you to everyone who made our year such a
success. We have a wonderful group of people who are
dedicated to bringing first-class entertainment to our
community. Please consider joining our great club. We
have a good time. Have a wonderful summer.
Couples Golf
What a great season for Couples Golf!
We held our last regularly scheduled golf
outing on Sunday, May 20. Of course we
dined after golf at The Shadows as usual. Our appreciation
to Dar and his crew for treating us sumptuously all year.
For the rest of the summer, Couples Golf will go
“informal.” You can make up your own groups and call
the Pro Shop for tee times. Check the Couples Golf
bulletin board in the Pro Shop for announcements.
As you may know, we held our annual election of new
Board members in late April. Two members of this year’s
Board have graciously consented to stay on for another
year. They are Gloria Mossman as Membership Chair and
Merlina Tate as Sectetary. Thank you, ladies!
Your newly elected Board is: President, Stu Stryker;
Vice President, Mike Mello; Tournament Chair, Ken and
Donna Rawson; Treasurer, Arnold Choy; and Handicap
