The <strong>Lazear</strong> <strong>Charter</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> Principal's primary responsibilities are:<br />

•!• Lead <strong>Lazear</strong> <strong>Charter</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> in accordance with the EFC vision and mission<br />

•!• Lead and manage the planning and implementation of <strong>Lazear</strong> <strong>Charter</strong> <strong>Academy</strong>'s strategic<br />

site plan<br />

•!• Provide instructional leadership guidance including monitoring of the implementation of the<br />

established curriculum , identifying professional development needs for the staff, maintain<br />

high expectations and standards for all student achievement, coordinate administration of<br />

standardized testing, and monitor and support classroom instruction<br />

•!• Manage and lead staff leadership teams (which includes representative(s) from<br />

administration, teachers, support staff)<br />

•!• Facilitate communication between all school stakeholders<br />

•!• Supervise, evaluate, and ensure discipline of all other employees according to the mission,<br />

philosophy, and obligations defined in the charter petition. Provide overall supervision of<br />

student teachers, interns, and other unpaid classroom and school volunteers at the school.<br />

•!• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school<br />

•!• Report to the school's stakeholders, especially the CEO but also the EFC Board, on the<br />

progress of the school in achieving educational success<br />

•!• Oversee and support the development and implementation of all programs<br />

•!• Involve parents and the larger community<br />

•!• Develop a sense of community while respecting and responding appropriately to the<br />

strengths and needs of staff. Be available to staff on a consistent daily basis to help<br />

address their individual and collective needs. Act as a liaison, when necessary and<br />

appropriate, between parents and staff. Actively seek parent, student and staff input and<br />

involvement in key decisions that affect the school.<br />

•!• Be available to parents on a regular basis. Keep parents informed of and involved in policy<br />

changes at the school. Encourage parent support and cooperation and enlist their efforts to<br />

sustain well-kept school structure. Plan and conduct interesting and informative parent<br />

meetings.<br />

•!• Attend EFC's administrative meetings as necessary and stay in direct contact with EFC<br />

changes, progress, etc.<br />

•!• Communicate and coordinate as necessary with EFC staff on Board meeting agendas,<br />

including professional development scheduling, grant writing and fundraising , policies and<br />

procedures, documenting and sharing of best practices, and annual budgeting<br />

•!• Participate in the dispute resolution procedure and the complaint procedure when<br />

necessary<br />

•!• Collaborate with other EFC principals and Home Office staff<br />

Grievance Procedure for Parents and Students<br />

Education For Change will designate at least one employee to coordinate its efforts to comply with<br />

and carry out its responsibilities under the Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX and<br />

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504 including any investigation of any complaint<br />

filed with EFC alleging its noncompliance with these laws or alleging any actions which would be<br />

prohibited by these laws.<br />

EFC will adopt and publicize any grievance procedures providing for prompt and equitable resolution<br />

of student and employee complaints alleging any action that would be prohibited by Title IX or Section<br />

504.<br />
