The Sacks Group Helps a Client Take the
Charter of a Lifetime. This winter, American
entrepreneur Joe Hollingsworth, Jr. finally
realized his dream of taking family and friends
on an extended Caribbean cruise aboard a luxury
charter yacht, with help from The Sacks
Group Yachting Professionals. The charter,
which lasted for 29 days, spanned the
Caribbean island chain from Grenada to St.
Maarten. The Sacks Group President and
Charter Specialist Jennifer M. Saia found the
perfect vessel –118' M/Y Savannah, the comfortable,
four-stateroom Intermarine motor
yacht. At the client’s request, they divided the
trip into five segments of five nights each.
Among the many highlights of the trip was
scuba diving in a wide variety of spectacular
locations, including Jason deCaires Taylor’s
underwater sculpture gallery off Grenada.

gathered April 3, 2009 on Ft. Lauderdale Beach for
a Crew BBQ and Pig Roast. Alison Overington and
Marcy Williams invited Captains and crew to join
them at the beachside event. Over 100 crew professionals
were on hand to make the afternoon a success.
The sunny afternoon was dedicated to encouraging
the crew to “hang in there” during these difficult
times. Food, fun and games gave everyone a

Sardinian Luxury Yacht Tax Scrapped:
(synfo.com) Sardinia Yacht Services announced
that the Sardinia Luxury Tax that has been in effect
since 2006 has been cancelled. On May 6, the
local regional government of Sardinia approved
Article 2 of the Financial Regional Act, which
effectively cancels the law known as the “luxury
tax” in Sardinia. This tax was felt throughout the
tourism industry and had a negative effect on the
local tourism economy. The law, which has now
been cancelled, stipulated that yachts berthed in
any port in Sardinia had to pay up to 15,000 euros
for their sojourn. This tax had a visibly negative
result on Sardinia’s image as a premier vacation
destination worldwide.
