FREEDOM WATERS ENJOYS
SUCCESS AT DANIA BEACH
MARINE FLEA MARKET
Freedom Waters Foundation (FWF) raised close to $10,000 at the Dania
Beach Marine Flea market all from donated marine related items from those
in the yachting and boating industry, including a water pump that donated
by Chris Barlow that will be used in the Children’s Home in the Bahamas.
Profits pleasantly surprised FWF’s Board and Executive Director, exceeding
their expectations, being their first year of participation.
Tax deductible donations were collected from yacht brokers, boat
yards, individuals and businesses in the boating industry. Thank you
to Ron McTighe for securing the free market space and getting free
storage for the entire year. A number of volunteers recruited through
Luke Brown Yachts stood in the sunshine and pouring rain and cold,
working endlessly to raise the funds for FWF. Chris Barlow was just
one of those volunteers. Given his dedication and enthusiasm
throughout this flea market process, Chris has now been appointed the
“Marine Merchandise Manager” for Freedom Waters Foundation. He
will continue to take in and sell marine related items for FWF. Chris

Freedom Waters Foundation is a non-profit organization co-founded by
FYBA member John Weller that provides boating opportunities and
marine related education for children with cancer and their families.
Programs include: yacht outings, sailing programs, fishing programs
