THE VISION
Gold-headed Apollo greets them:
the red-haired chieftain and the eyeless crone.
He stops them at the very gates of Olympus.
Tros sees the blinding presence,
the cracked-voice Sibyl intoning the words
of the god appointed ambassador of Zeus.
“The King of Olympus asks me to say this
to honored Tros, future king, father
of the favored cup-bearer Ganymede:
A gift of two splendid horses I send you.
Know that your son still lives,
immortal and loved among the gods.”
