and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus.

Emperor of India: To Our Trusty and Well-beloved Wilham
Denis BattershiU, Esquire. Companion of Our ^Nlost Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Greeting.
WE do, by this Our Conmiission under Our Sign ]\Ianual and Signet,
appoint you, the said Wilham Denis Battershill, to be, during Our
pleasure. Our Govemor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Our Colony
of Cyprus, vrith all the powers, rights, privileges, and advantages to the
said Ofl&ce belonging or appertaining.
II. And We do hereby authorize, empower, and command you to
exercise and perform all and singular the power.< and directions contained
in oertain Letters Patent under the Great Seal (constituting the Oflfice
of (iovernor and Commander-m-Chief of Our Colony of C\i)rus), bearing
date at Westminster the Tenth day of March, 1925, and in certain letters
Patent imder the said Great Seal, bearing date at Westnunster the
Twelfth dav of Xovember, 1931, or in any other Letters Patent adding to,
. amending, or substituted for the same, and m any Order or Orders in
Our Privy Council relatmg to Our said Colony, save in so far as any
provision of any such Order or Orders m Council may be repugnant to
any of the provisions of the said Letters Patent, according to such Orders
and Instructions as Our Govemor and Commander-in-Chief for the time
being may have ah-eady received, or as you may hereafter receive, from Us.
