Enhanced Cutt<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Cutt<strong>in</strong>g Cont<strong>in</strong>uous Members<br />

While <strong>in</strong> a loaded jo<strong>in</strong>t which conta<strong>in</strong>s a cont<strong>in</strong>uous member, that is to say a member that<br />

does not have either end <strong>in</strong> this jo<strong>in</strong>t, it was previously impossible to cut the cont<strong>in</strong>uous<br />

member. It is now possible to cut the cont<strong>in</strong>uous member and save the cut to the end of<br />

another member <strong>in</strong> the jo<strong>in</strong>t. The cutt<strong>in</strong>g process is exactly the same as cutt<strong>in</strong>g a member<br />

end. The options for sav<strong>in</strong>g the cuts are controlled through new options <strong>in</strong> the ‘PutLib’<br />

command expla<strong>in</strong>ed later.<br />

Cutt<strong>in</strong>g Tapered Members<br />

Previously it would be necessary to model a tapered or full length cut <strong>in</strong> the jo<strong>in</strong>ts at each end<br />

of the member. It is now possible to cut a member along its full length from either end. The<br />

process of cutt<strong>in</strong>g the member is exactly the same as a normal cut except you will be<br />

prompted to select the side of the cut you wish to keep.<br />
