Jack Boylston and Jiggs Watson, joint Patriarchs of <strong>Tybee</strong>’s infamous ‘Beach Beach Bum Bum Parade Parade,’ Parade ha ve been drenched in a whole lot of water over the years! The two partners in crime were fun loving, adventurous, and relatively young men at the start of that first ‘Beach Beach Bum Bum Bum Parade’ Parade’ back in 1987. Twenty years, twenty-one parades, and a few gray hairs later - they both remain very young at heart and undeniably, “Still Crazy After all these Years”! Joining Jack and Jiggs in this time honored “<strong>Tybee</strong> frivolity” is Alan Alan Missroon Missroon Missroon as Grand Marshal, Jenny Jenny Orr Orr as her heiness the Queen, and Mike Mike Corbett Corbett, Corbett as the Big Kahuna. The 2007 parade will commence on the Friday night May 18th by Debbie Brady Robinson Jack, “moving it back to the last locals’ weekend helps business. It’s another good reason to get folks to come to <strong>Tybee</strong>!” When asked how the whole thing got started in the first place? “It was strictly accidental,” says Jack. “It was Spring 1987. We were all still hanging out at the Desoto. Several of us, including Jiggs, Tommy Clark, John O’Neill and myself, decided to go out and play some softball with the guys at the ball park. Those guys were killin’ us,” said Jack in exasperation! “They were really playing hard ball - knocking it clean out of the Park! They were pros! Our out field couldn’t keep up. We decided to form our own team with our own standards. Anybody could play on ‘The The The Beach Beach Bums’ Bums’ team! There were no requirements. It was like T-ball - we had an ‘every kid’ gets to play motto!” , at 6:30 PM, marking the beginning of ‘the last locals weekend’ declares Jiggs Watson.
