The Poster – was placed strategically in all public places in Siaya District – Chief camps, churches,
local authority notice boards, community resource and learning centres.
B. 2. Description of other consultation methods used
If individuals and/ or entities (e.g. NGOs) are unable to attend the physical meeting, please
discuss other methods that were used to solicit their feedback/ comments (e.g.
questionnaires, phone calls, interviews).
Efforts were made to reach most of the individuals who were unable to attend the meeting physically
through telephone interviews and email. Their comments were taken into consideration.
The following were interviewed:
- Grace Mwaura – Youth representative - IUCN
- Anne Owino – District Environment Officer - Siaya
- Philip Otieno – Kenya Young Greens
- Ken Peter Otieno – Programme Associate – RECONCILE
Grace applauded the project design, especially the integration of savings and internal loaning noting
that the framework shall enable ownership of the project and sustainability in terms of additional
benefits to the environment and socio-economic capacities of peasant communities.
Through telephone conversation, Anne who is also the district environment officer, for Siaya,
