Soil condition n/a Other pollutants n/a Gold Standard Local Stakeholder Consultation Report Explanation • Reduced tree cutting will have positive impact on reducing surface run off and enhancing the hydrological cycle of an area. • The reduced tree cutting will mean reduced surface run off, which is important in enhancing underground water reserves by providing time for percolation. MDG 7: ensure environmental sustainability MDG 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger Explanation • The reduced cutting of trees will lead to reduced surface run off which subsequently reduces soil erosion, which robs off the top and fertile soils, in extremes this, can reduce farm productivity. • This can enhance community well being due to reduced negative impacts on agricultural productivity, thus surpluses will be sold to provide income.
