BIRDS ARE ENTANGLED BY THEIR FEET,<br />

And making nimbly for the neareft wood,<br />

Within its leafy cover got away,<br />

But little chance their fleetnefs to display :<br />

So that at eve, returning from his sport,<br />

With empty game-bags <strong>and</strong> dejected look,<br />

Nothing by chatter ever yet was done,<br />

Conquer): achiev'd, nor battle ever won ;<br />

But who <strong>with</strong> " ftill tongue " doth his aim purfue,<br />
