5.3.4. APPROACH AND LANDING WITH MINIMUM CERTIFIED<br />

FLAPS/SLATS SETTING<br />

This kind of procedure is already applied by some airlines (when not limited by landing<br />

performance), and a gain up <strong>to</strong> 4 dB(A) can be expected close <strong>to</strong> the airport (distances<br />

less than 4 NM).<br />

APPROACH CONFIGURATION, SPEED AND GLIDE)<br />

The following figure shows an example of the influence of approach speed, flaps/slats<br />

setting and glide angle on the approach noise.<br />
