FOUNDATION<br />

Founded in 1985 to raise funds exclusively for the <strong>Blowing</strong><br />

<strong>Rock</strong> Community. The earnings from community service<br />

day golf and tennis tournaments and our popular Groovy<br />

Nights Show are used to award grants to the town and<br />

scholarships to local college students.<br />

BLOWING ROCK HISTORICAL SOCIETY<br />

A membership organization with the mission <strong>of</strong> protecting<br />

and preserving the historic resources important to the<br />

heritage <strong>of</strong> <strong>Blowing</strong> <strong>Rock</strong>. Chartered in 1985, the society<br />

is a non-pr<strong>of</strong>it [501 (c)(3)] agency that meets five or six<br />

times a year, and hosts various functions/events throughout<br />

the year. Advocacy for preservation awareness in the<br />

community comes from operation <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Blowing</strong> <strong>Rock</strong><br />

Museum, from educational events, and the newsletter.<br />

BLOWING ROCK JAZZ SOCIETY<br />

A non-pr<strong>of</strong>it society to present live jazz concerts, promote,<br />

preserve, educate and encourage the development <strong>of</strong> jazz<br />

talent and maintain jazz as America’s own art form. Live<br />

jazz concerts are presented every second Sunday <strong>of</strong> the<br />

month at the Meadowbrook Inn. Concert time is 7-9pm.<br />

BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY FOUNDATION<br />

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is the primary and<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional fund raising organization for the Blue Ridge<br />

Parkway. The role <strong>of</strong> the Foundation is to identify and<br />

cultivate the constituency <strong>of</strong> the Blue Ridge Parkway for<br />

philanthropic support. The Foundation only provides<br />

funding for those projects which enhance the quality <strong>of</strong><br />

the visitor’s experience and have a lasting value.<br />

HIGH COUNTRY UNITED WAY<br />

MIDDLE FORK GREENWAY ASSOCIATION<br />

A citizens group with the goal to promote the development<br />

<strong>of</strong> a greenway between Boone and <strong>Blowing</strong> <strong>Rock</strong> that will<br />

provide enjoyment and recreation for residents and visitors<br />

to the High Country. All are welcome to participate in this<br />
