OASIS<br />
Founded in 1978. (Opposing Abuse with Services,<br />
Information, and Shelter) is dedicated to ending domestic<br />
violence and sexual assault in Watauga County. OASIS<br />
provides comprehensive emergency services and support,<br />
education and skill development, and works to create a<br />

WATAUGA COUNTY HABITAT FOR<br />
HUMANITY<br />
Habitat is a Christian housing ministry. We build simple,<br />
decent homes for families who earn between 30-60% <strong>of</strong><br />
Watauga County median income. Donations <strong>of</strong> land,<br />
materials and volunteer labor keep the homes affordable<br />
and families contribute sweat equity. Houses are sold with<br />
no pr<strong>of</strong>it to families with zero interest mortgages.<br />

WATAUGA HUMANE SOCIETY<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> the Watauga Humane Society is the<br />
prevention <strong>of</strong> cruelty to animals, the relief <strong>of</strong> suffering<br />
among animals, and the extension <strong>of</strong> humane education.<br />
We provide low cost spay/neuter clinics, adoption assistance<br />
and animal welfare education programs. The four-acre dog<br />
park located at 182 Don Hayes Road is open sunrise to<br />
sunset. Dog Park Day Passes are $3.00 and<br />
annual memberships are avaliable.<br />
