farinaceous; lamellae thin, close, rounded behind, adnexed, white, sometimes tinged with<br />
yellow in front; spores minute, 5-6X4-5 /¿; stipe stout, solid, nearly equal, white, sometimes<br />
tinged with yellow, 3-5 cm. long, 6-12 mm. thick.<br />
TYPE LOCALITY: Mohawk Hill, Lewis County, New York.<br />
HABITAT: Among mosses and fallen leaves under evergreen and deciduous trees on the margin<br />
of a swamp.<br />
DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality.<br />

to olivaceous or smoky-brownish; context white, fragile, odor and taste somewhat mealy;<br />
lamellae broad, uneven, subdistant, fragile, rounded behind or emarginate, white with yellow<br />
reflections from a lemon-yellow layer between the lamellae; spores subglobose, smooth, hyaline,<br />
5-6 ß ; stipe very variable in length and shape, solid, often irregular, white to yellowish or<br />
olivaceous, 2.5-7.5 cm. long, 8-16 mm. thick.<br />
TYPE LOCALITY: England.<br />
HABITAT: On the ground in mixed woods.<br />
DISTRIBUTION: Eastern United States; also in Europe.<br />

stipe slightly tapering upward, fleshy, solid or stuffed, milk-white, smooth, glabrous, whitish-<br />
mycelioid at the base, 5-7 cm. long, 4-9 mm. thick.<br />

HABITAT: On much decayed coniferous wood.<br />
DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality.
