(8) Tarnished, corroded, or contaminated crimp contact.<br />

(9) Improper insulation clearance.<br />

(10) Insulation whiskers that extend into the crimp barrel.<br />

d. Cable <strong>and</strong> Harness Ties (Requirement):<br />

(1) Improperly laced ties.<br />

(2) Incorrect material.<br />

(3) Wire bundle damaged or deformed by tie.<br />

(4) Loose ties.<br />

(5) Ends not trimmed.<br />

(6) Damaged or contaminated ties or <strong>wiring</strong>.<br />

(7) Incorrect spacing of ties for bundle size.<br />

(8) Improper h<strong>and</strong>ling or protection.<br />

e. Cable <strong>and</strong> Harness Assemblies (Requirement):<br />

(1) Projecting str<strong>and</strong>s on shield terminations.<br />

(2) Wire insulation with cuts, punctures, or crushing.<br />

(3) Metal ferrules crimped with improper alignment.<br />

(4) Cracked, charred, or split insulation sleeving.<br />

(5) Improper sleeving coverage.<br />

(6) Birdcaging of conductor.<br />

(7) Peeling or flaking of plating on connectors or pins/sockets.<br />

(8) Damaged or deformed contacts.<br />

(9) Damaged insulation in excess of slight discoloration.<br />
