RACE 4 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
Mach Away, C. Christoforou to S. Zeron
Parade Route, Ra. Waples to M. Saftic
4th Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
5 DELICATE TOUCH gives you the often dangerous team of McIntosh and Waples to consider. That same combination scored for a Monday night
victory with stablemate Rockin Wizard. That pacer was winning for the second time in as many starts. Off her 1:59 qualifier it wouldn’t be out of line
to expect a speed performance in the 1:56 (or faster) range if the push is on.
6 PARADE ROUTE will likely have a replacement driver. Waples was expected to stick with the one above. Trainer Mark Austin has been good to
me in the past on occasion. I always take a good look when he has a starter that appears to be a contender and that is the case tonight in this spot.
You have to at least give her a look.
7 RUBIS PRESCOTT just missed by a small margin last time when making her second start. Her debut performance was good enough to get her
wagering support in the less than 2-1 range that night. She’s another playable option that has to be looked at when compiling pick 4 strategy. This
might be the night for her to take home the winner’s share of the prize money.
4 MACH AWAY can be considered by using the improved post position angle in her fourth start. Show me a price in the upset/longshot range and
interest would increase. Christoforou is not a poor choice when looking for an upset result. He’s been known to surprise on occasion. I’ll rate her
as a back up option in the first leg of the early pick 4 wager.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
(1) STRYKING DOVE moves to test the competition on the major circuit tonight for owner/trainer Kyle Reibeling. She can’t be eliminated completely
when guessing about triactor possibilities.
(2) GRAPHENE scares me even with her first start result. She had a post 10 handicap that night. She might need to be upgraded on Thursday
night.
(3) HONI MAKER raced to suit her first start status on March 21. That was not a poor effort considering the time off prior to that. You could find a
way to include her in the triactor scheme or as an upset option to use in the pick 4.
(8) TIGRA SEELSTER has been a fringe player in five consecutive races dating back to February 7. I guessed that the trend might continue again
and could only rate her with a chance to earn one of the smaller purse shares again.
(9) MARACULOUS didn’t have enough to offer to make me think that she will end a 12-race losing streak tonight. The post 9 factor doesn’t help her
chances very much.
(10) A REAL COMMITMENT produced almost opposite results in her last two. The try for the 18-1 upset on March 7 just failed. What’s your guess
about a quick turnaround for this pacer with her post 10 handicap?
