9 DIRT TRACK MOMMA was a private purchase following her third-place finish at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Mar. 17, and she turned in a goodlooking
debut performance for her new connections just four days off the truck. The mare drops down to this $8,000 level tonight, but the post
position gods haven’t done her any favours. I’m going to look for another solid effort tonight. She gets the nod to start the Late Double wager.
4 PUFF MOMMY finally broke through with an impressive performance when she rallied to finish second in her most recent outing. The mare was
sitting eighth at the half in that tilt before rallying past six foes in the back-half of the mile for trainer Carmen Auciello, who made the switch to driver
James MacDonald. He’s hired to handle the mare again, and hopefully he can get a similar result from her in here. She’s an Exactor factor.
3 RING AROUND ROSIE has put up some very solid numbers in 2013 including on-the-board finishes in four of her last five assignments. The
daughter of Allamerican Theory has been hustled to the front week after week and she continues to put that tactical speed to good use. If there’s a
knock against her it’s her lack of late speed. She tends to get soft as her final quarters in the :30-second range would indicate. She’s a contender.
5 KEEP IT FAIR has shown improvement since entering the stable of trainer Corey Johnson. His barn has put together a 10-for-35 (28%) this
month at Woodbine, and this mare helped bolster those stats when she rallied to win in her latest outing in 1:54.2. She returns to the same level
and gets to work from an ideal post position in her quest to double up. She merits serious consideration once again.
(1) ANDYS DREAMBOAT raced well in her debut for trainer Ken Duncan and partners on Feb. 28, but she’s failed to hit the board in a trio of followup
performances. She’s reclassified tonight and she gets to work from an inside post position for the second week-in-a-row. She can share.
(2) FAVORITE ODDS is 12 starts into the season and she has yet to visit victory lane. Judging by her form I think it’s safe to say that number will
swell to 13 by the end of the night. She gets a bit of post relief to work with but I’m not sure that will be enough to help her. She’s an outsider.
(6) OUR DESIRE has posted a pair of wins in her first five starts since being claimed by owner/trainer Patrick Shepherd, but she failed to hit the
board in her latest. The mare drops to an easier level for this assignment, and that might prove to be a difference maker.
(7) BRAVEHEARTEDMILLIE started off the year with some very solid numbers, but she’s tailed off since moving to the barn of trainer Joe Agostino.
She’s missed the board in all four of her starts since making the shift to his outfit. If you like her chances be sure to demand a price.
(8) MACHS LITTLE FILLY has pitched a shutout so far this season, but to her credit she’s managed to hit the board in back-to-back efforts for
trainer/driver Jason ‘Ricky Bobby’ Ryan. The Mach Three miss moves up the class ladder and has drawn poorly. I’ll take a pass on her tonight.
(10) POCKETFULASUNSHINE missed more than a month of racing before re-qualifying on Mar. 6, and just three days later she was back to victory
lane at Flamboro Downs. She went home empty handed when hiked up in class in her latest. She has a challenging post to work from tonight.
