RACE 3 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
None
3rd Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
7 MUSCLECORLEONE might be an interesting option at the right price if the pre-race appearance is suitable. His slow speed qualifier on March 21
doesn’t help to produce a high level of confidence but those non-competitive races are often misleading. He’s gong to have McNair to drive now that
he is back in competition with purse money on the line. A longshot price would be a bonus is you like what you see prior to the race. Beware!
2 MONEY MAVEN has a past performance record to suggest that he might be more apt to finish in the second or third position. I would have to
recommend him for plays in those spots rather than the win position but could get fooled. He looks to be a solid top three option again this night for
those investing in the triactor wager.
1 BALLYKEEL PEGASUS put the trotting hopples back on when he qualified at London on March 22. Moreau is the trainer of record tonight. That
change should be enough to cause some handicappers to take an interest. He has won once previously. I guess he could double that production
tonight but I chose to play it this way.
10 HONEY MUFFIN has the post 10 handicap to beat in her first start for sometimes hot trainer Vic Puddy. She has used an early speed approach
previously but we don’t know for sure that she can match the WEG competition in that regard. If an early position near the front can be had she
might handle the transition to the major circuit well enough to sneak into the top three picture.
(3) LIMA DYNAMIC has a one win record and I often avoid using that profile when considering possible winners in a race such as this. He’s been
out of competition for more than a month and doesn’t have much in the way of current good form to offer. Pass.
(4) BOCA BOCA has borderline status when I was selecting top four options. I could have rated him in that group without too much second
guessing.
(5) SUMMERBEST had his only victory last year in an O.S.S. grass roots event over the half mile Flamboro track when his early speed helped to
produce a very favourable trip. I chose to watch is comeback start and to rate him lower than the top four.
(6) BREWMASTER looked like a bit of a question mark with the current profile including a breaking performance, vet scratch and a last race that
was not very productive. I’ll watch.
(8) EST NON ILA DULCIS has some longshot potential if you strategy is to try for a beat the favourites winner to finish off the opening pick 3 wager.
I couldn’t must enough confidence however to rate her in one of the top four positions.
(9) B YOYO was supposed to do better than he did last time according to the majority of bettors who had him pegged as a 2-1 option. Some
handicappers will be willing to try again and will have him rated higher than myself.
