RACE 2 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
Lalka, Ra. Waples to S. Filion
2nd Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
8 MACH THIS WAY raced like a meant to win item last time. We’ve seen other similar performances by others that are under the care of the same
trainer recently. Auciello won two on Monday night with trotters. You could say that he is on a mini-hot streak. She might have another good one to
show us.
7 CHARDONAY SEELSTER has double up possibilities and could score for her third career victory tonight if trainer Ben Wallace gives McNair the
green light to push for a maximum performance. She offers a fairly consistent record over the last 15 months with five top three finishes in both 2012
and during the current campaign.
6 FOOLISH MIND improved from a finish standpoint in her second start after time off. She had some good results last year and was able to earn
almost $40,000 in prize money. Christoforou gets another chance to come back and try again with this 3 year old filly who has the advantage of
racing from a mid pack spot in comparison to post 9 last time. That change should help.
2 ST LADS ZENA had good to go status in her first race for the current owners and trainer. She’ll move to try the major circuit this night in an
attempt to double up. She has the bonus of being driven by the circuit’s leading driver. That can often help to produce a winning performance.
She’s not unplayable.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
Race 2: Driver/Trainer Combination
Horse # Driver Trainer Starts Win % R.O.I.
1 Ra Waples P Ruhl 3 0% $0.00
2 S Zeron A Mccabe 8 25% $2.24
3 J Jamieson G Adair 4 0% $0.00
4 S Filion M Kwietniowski 0 0% $0.00
5 B Davis Jr I Waxman 15 6% $0.22
6 C Christoforou S Gangell 12 25% $3.89
7 D Mcnair B Wallace 9 11% $1.27
8 J Drury C Auciello 57 19% $4.12
(1) ABOVE THE NORM has been four times third this year . She was in the hunt last time against some of these same rivals when third best in a
classification very similar to this. I can give her a maybe vote.
(3) BEECHWOOD DIANA looked to be an upset prospect at best in the early stages of the selection process and was rated that way with a spot in
the bottom group.
(4) LALKA moves back into the Nw2 category after a failed try against different competition last time on a night when post 10 was part of her profile.
The improved starting position tonight can only help. Waples had two options to choose from. Abovethenorm was his other chance. If you use only
her best results from the past you could make a case for her to be included in wagering options.
(5) BRIDE IN A BOX possibly has talented enough to do better than my rating suggests but her inconsistency made me take a cautious approach
when rating her.
