RACE 8 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
Oaks Hanover, J. Jamieson to M. Saftic
Whole Lotta Shakin, S. Zeron to An. MacDonald
8th Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
6 MAJORLEY gets another chance in the top spot. He failed to live up to my expectations a week ago but I have a hunch that one night soon his
supporters will have a profitable experience. Waples only needs to spot him close enough/soon enough to give him a chance to produce best
results. He can do that if he has the horsepower.
1 RASHABEC will try to double up against claimers in the same price range. He’ll be the race favourite again unless something unexpected shows
up with one of his rivals taking more support than expected. I’m gong to try to beat him for the top spot but would have to recommend that his
number be included in the pick 4 strategy.
3 SURPRIZEMEAGAIN has won at this level in the past. Not too many were interested last week when he had the post 10 handicap to beat. There
might be more interested bettors this night with the post position improvement included in his profile. The results could be better than my rating
suggests if he has a suitable amount of racing luck.
4 ROCKNROLL HARMONY needs to produce a top level performance to have a chance at finish with a 1-2-3 result. Without some racing luck that
result might not be realized. I can only suggest him for use in the lower positions in either triactor or superfecta wagers. MacDonald has a tough
task with this off the pace racer if the flow of the race doesn’t suit his come from behind style.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
(2) CEREAL LOVER was given a longshot quote in the morning line assessment. Recent result are mostly poor but he did get better on March 22
when a favourable trip helped the cause.
(5) BEER BASH starts a comeback tonight with three qualifying preps. Does Wallace have another upset winner or should we wait to see how he
makes out this night?
(7) THE DEPUTY IS HOME was best of the bunch when he was a predictable and popular winner on March 24 at Rideau Carleton. The move to
Woodbine will make it tougher for him but not impossible.
(8) LITTLE QUICK went on a downswing following a longshot victory on March 4. He has a different driving partner this night if you think that
change might work.
(9) OAKS HANOVER had one of his best results last time. He can compete at this level on a night when he shows up to do his best work. I could
only give him upset status.
(10) WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN rates as an optional item in my pick 4 guesses. We’ve seen him finish near the top of the order in the past from an
outside post position and he does have MacDonald to drive.
