6th Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
9 SWEET BET won the number one rating in a flip of the coin type decision. I saw several options in here that could be considered. I’m not
overconfident that she will win but let’s give it a try and see what happens. Luc picked up the catch driver after Davis made the decision to handle St
Lads Morgan.
6 JANIE BAY has the same claiming price tonight but the upper and lower limits are different. I can give her a chance to regain top three form that
she had not too long ago and I have it in the back of my mind that I might be underestimating her chances with an 8-1 morning line estimate. Take a
look.
2 ST LADS MORGAN was rated higher than this last time. She beat all but the winner that night on the heels of a missed start due to a judges
scratch. If she were to beat them all it wouldn’t be much of a surprise. She should get her share of wagering support. A win tonight would give her
four for the year and a 6-for-11 summary from a top three standpoint.
10 EXPRESS JET looks for three in a row victories. Good results can be had from post 10 when trainer and driver are in the aggressive mode. We
don’t always see that happen but we might with this combination of Fine and Zeron. Some of the more adventurous bettors might consider a play
them all approach in this leg and then hope for a longshot winner. The availability of wagering with a base bet of less than a dollar is available to
help keep the cost down if the budget dictates.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
(1) NICS REGAL LASS debuts for a new owner/trainer team following the last race claim. She’s batting .500 this year from a top three standpoint. I
can give her a maybe vote.
(3) WINDSONG EXPERANZA won four in a row in January/February. She has since been a fringe player in four follow ups. Maybe the new trainer
can get her to pick it up again.
(4) DEAR ARYSS looks somewhat risky with current results as they are. Fellows, I think, has better chances to win a race on this program with
other starters.
(5) PETITE COURAGEUSE was best at 10-1 three back. She improved last time when third best following a not so good result in the start prior to
that. What’s your guess?
(7) MANVERS SHORT CUT was given the role of luke-warm morning line favourite and probably should have been a top four option. Rating her
lower than that was difficult to do.
(8) LAST MINUTE CINDY didn’t miss by much at longshot odds on March 8. Her trainer is sometimes tricky to predict. Let’s see what odds are
being offered and then decide.
