leading member of the Socialist Workers Party, who
was arrested and convicted in 1988 of raping a 15year-old
black high school girl. The SWp claimed
that Curtis was the victim of a police frame-up,
although he was arrested inside the victim's home
after her 11-year-old brother called the 911 emergency
number.
This book makes a detailed examination of the
trial transcript, which provides overwhelming evidence
that Curtis is guilty. It compares the Curtis
defense campaign to those waged on behalf of genuine
frame-up victims, from Sacco and Vanzetti to
Rubin "Hurricane" Carter and Gary Tyler, and shows that the SWP campaign is a political
fraud. It includes an appendix with letters from many of those who have repudiated their
support for the campaign after learning the facts of the case.
