Minimum English Proficiency<br />
Students who have completed the<br />
<strong>GAC</strong> within Australia are not required<br />
to submit separate evidence of English<br />
competence. However, students from<br />
offshore need:<br />
IELTS 6.0 in all bands; TOEFL 80 iBT<br />
(20 in each section); 550 PBT; minimum<br />
test of written English (TWE) 5.0.*<br />
As of Semester 2 2013, requirements<br />
will be IELTS overall 6.5 (minimum 6.0<br />
in each band); TOEFL iBT 90 (minimum<br />
22 in each section).<br />
*Some courses require higher English entry<br />

Credits & Scholarships<br />
Credit towards a Curtin qualification<br />
may be granted to applicants with<br />
qualifications from other accredited<br />
educational institutions, including<br />
polytechnics or universities. Students<br />
may apply for Recognition of Prior<br />
Learning (RPL) if they have covered<br />
the work in other academic areas or<br />
have undertaken relevant employment<br />
activities. RPL is assessed on a<br />
case-by-case basis.<br />
