Minimum English Proficiency
Students who have completed the
GAC within Australia are not required
to submit separate evidence of English
competence. However, students from
offshore need:
IELTS 6.0 in all bands; TOEFL 80 iBT
(20 in each section); 550 PBT; minimum
test of written English (TWE) 5.0.*
As of Semester 2 2013, requirements
will be IELTS overall 6.5 (minimum 6.0
in each band); TOEFL iBT 90 (minimum
22 in each section).
*Some courses require higher English entry

specific entry requirements.
Credits & Scholarships
Credit towards a Curtin qualification
may be granted to applicants with
qualifications from other accredited
educational institutions, including
polytechnics or universities. Students
may apply for Recognition of Prior
Learning (RPL) if they have covered
the work in other academic areas or
have undertaken relevant employment
activities. RPL is assessed on a
case-by-case basis.
