The Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla
is a Jesuit university located in Puebla,
Mexico, offering a large number of
programs, both undergraduate and
graduate. Its mission is to contribute,
in an environment of responsible
participation, openness, liberty,
respect and critical thinking, to the
development of professionals and
researchers with human and academic
quality, highly committed with service
to others, in pursuit of a more free,
productive and supportive society.
For more than 450 years, Jesuit
education has had a profound
influence on our world.
Since the creation of the first Jesuit
school in Italy in 1548, Jesuits have
been at the center of the intellectual
world, beginning a long tradition of
leadership in education. Ibero Puebla,
as it is also known for short, is part of
this tradition and philosophy, forming
part of the large international network
of Jesuit institutions, with a presence
in more than 60 countries all around
the world.
The university is located in Puebla,
the fourth largest city in Mexico, well
known for its architecture, gastronomy,
mild climate and excellent location.
It has approximately 5,000 students
coming from various parts of Mexico
and the world.

Founded in 1973, the UPAEP was
established at the request of the people
of Puebla in order to serve the people
of the community. The University is
noted for its academic excellence and
the number of accredited programs as
well as for its institutional development
strength. The total university-level
(undergraduate) enrollees are 9,615
students. Puebla is known as the
city of the student and UPAEP is a
university that welcomes students
from different states of the country,
mainly from the south-east as well as
international students. This has created
a very diverse and attractive student life.
UPAEP is located just two blocks
from popular Juarez Avenue and a
few blocks from Puebla’s historic
downtown, which is considered a
UNESCO World Heritage Site for its
colonial architecture. Our campus has
a very attractive urban location; it is
located in the middle of the city, just a
few blocks from the historic downtown.
This is ideal for the student who wants
to be close to or get to know the real
and daily Mexican life. Also, the UPAEP
campus is near public transportation
to different parts of the city. There are
many shopping centers, movie theaters,
and night clubs nearby.
UPAEP’s campus has much to offer
to local and international students
including cultural and sports activities.
Campus facilities include a fully
equipped computer center, library
center, conference room, language
center, bank, cafeteria, film center,
gymnasium, outdoor pool, and other
sports facilities. The university is
renowned for its basketball and soccer
teams, and student groups are active in
theater, dance, chorus, speech, debate,
photography, and animation.
