Technology<br />

During the 2012–13 academic year<br />

all new undergraduate freshman<br />

and transfer students received the<br />

new iPad. Our high-tech campus<br />

includes more than 500 computers<br />

for student use, free wireless Internet<br />

music, multimedia arts and computer<br />

Founded in 1876, the University<br />

of Northern Iowa (UNI) is a<br />

comprehensive public liberal arts<br />

institution with over 12,000 students<br />

from 43 US states and 60 countries.<br />

Although UNI is a medium-size<br />

university, it has a small-school<br />

atmosphere in a friendly community.<br />

UNI was named one of the 50 safest<br />

campuses in the U.S. in a recent<br />

study. <strong>The</strong> 900-acre park-like campus<br />

features more than 65 major buildings<br />

within a 10-minute walking distance of<br />

each other, including eight computer<br />

labs, 12 residence facilities, and<br />
