Qualifications are recognized world-wide, which explains why international students have chosen to study at Bangor for decades, and who today make up 12 percent of the total student population. In the latest assessment by the UK government into the quality of research at UK universities, research at Bangor was identified as ‘world leading’ in the 19 assessed subjects areas, with Accounting and Finance ranked number one in the UK and Electronic Engineering ranked number two in the UK. Bangor also performs extremely well in the Teaching Quality assessment. Most departments are rated the highest possible award of “excellent” for the quality of teaching and Bangor was ranked 15th in the UK for Overall Student Experience.
