and take the chair?
The candidate goes forward to take the chair,
when the Right Worshipful Master pushes him
back, and says:
R. W. M.--Before you occupy the Master's chair,

obligation to discharge with fidelity the duty of
Master of the Lodge.
The candidate having no objection, the Master
addresses him as follows:--
1. You agree to be a good man and true, and
strictly to obey the moral law?
2. You agree to be a peaceful subject, and
cheerfully to conform to the laws of the country
in which you reside?
3. You promise not to be concerned in any plots
or conspiracies against government; but patiently
