in confusion. leaving five dead behind them. Inspired by this hold action, the
support platoon charged the retreating enemy and annihilated thcm. Soon
afterward, while orginising his company to repulse a posvible counterattack the
gallant comllany comrnaudck was n~ovtally wonnded by the burst of an enemy
rnurtar shcil. By his indomitable fighting spirit, brilliant leadership, and unwaveririg
