1. Bronze Star Medal-Captain Candonio Gaorlnn, Phili~lpine Army, on 18
March 1942, distinguished himself near Dnnar, Santiago, Ilocus Sur, Philippine
Islands. AH officer in charge of the operation, he skillfully pl;mned and directed
a daring ambush in which an entire enemy garrison was destroyed. By his
exceptional leadership and personal courage, Captain Gan'lan emtributed in
great measure to the success of the attack on strong enemy forms.
