ma<strong>in</strong>ly aims to compare early <strong>Laozi</strong> parallels, <strong>the</strong>re is not room to discuss this important question,<br />
i.e., what are <strong>the</strong> textual and philosophical relationships among <strong>the</strong> excavated texts. But one must<br />
rema<strong>in</strong> aware of <strong>the</strong> critical po<strong>in</strong>t that, <strong>in</strong> study<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> GD or MWD documents, one should not<br />
attempt to categorize <strong>the</strong> texts by apply<strong>in</strong>g conventionally established concepts like<br />
Confucianism and Daoism. This approach can give some alternative explanations <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> study of<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>Laozi</strong>.<br />
