This square turned out to be more difficult than I expected with <strong>the</strong> much of <strong>the</strong> land very wet . The valley to <strong>the</strong> south of<br />

Connor Pass is probably <strong>the</strong> best site and <strong>the</strong> east side of <strong>the</strong> valley would be worth checking. Some of <strong>the</strong> fields below<br />

Lough Cruit are probably <strong>the</strong> next best hope.<br />

The steep slopes from Connor Pass down to Clogharee Lough looked promising from aerial photographs but were<br />

too wet to be of significant interest. I did not descend all <strong>the</strong> way to <strong>the</strong> Lough and from <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r side of <strong>the</strong> valley,<br />

<strong>the</strong>re could be some old fields of interest right at <strong>the</strong> lough edge but I wouldn't be too hopeful.<br />

A small steep area of grassland below <strong>the</strong> road that is drier than <strong>the</strong> surrounding boggy ground . A greater range of<br />
