Very wet on much of <strong>the</strong> head with only <strong>the</strong> headlands <strong>the</strong>mselves having any grassland . Extreme winds prevented safe<br />

surveying and <strong>the</strong> sou<strong>the</strong>rn head at Q676305 was not visited.<br />

Most of <strong>the</strong> unenclosed land down to <strong>the</strong> headland grades between blanket bog and wet heath and has little waxcap<br />

interest. The waxcaps were found down at <strong>the</strong> cliff edge past <strong>the</strong> wind stunted hea<strong>the</strong>r that was broken into clumps<br />

battered by <strong>the</strong> wind. The promontory to <strong>the</strong> south would also be of interest but in <strong>the</strong> severe winds, surveying here<br />

was bounding on dangerous.<br />
