Society's Ipswich River Wildlife<br />
Sanctuary in Tbpsfield is offer-<br />
ing a four day vacation camp for<br />
children during February school<br />
vacation week. The camp will<br />
run Tuesday through Friday,<br />
February 16-19; 9 a.m. to noon<br />
for 5 and 6 year olds and 9 a.m.<br />
to 3 p.m. for children in grades<br />
1-5. '<br />
These four days of winter dis-<br />
covery invite children to explore<br />
the outdoors, sharpen observa-<br />
tion skills, and learn how ani-<br />
mals adapt for and survive the<br />
winter. They'll look for homes of<br />
winter liibernators and sleepers,<br />
follow tracks and signs in the<br />
snow of such Sanctuary inhabi-<br />
tants as fox, deer, otter and owl,<br />
and learn how animals stay<br />
warm and find food. They will<br />
also learn about maple sugar-<br />
ing, as the Sanctuary prepares<br />
for its sugaring season.<br />
Preregistration is required.<br />
Fee for the half day program is<br />
$58 ($48/Massachusetts Audubon<br />
members). Fee for the full day<br />
program is $100 ($88/Massa-<br />
chusetts Audubon members).<br />

WAKEFIELD - In celebra<br />
tion of its 10th anniversary, the<br />
No Name Adoption Group will<br />
sponsor a concert with singer,<br />
songwriter, guitarist, and adop-<br />
tive parent Sally Rogers at 8<br />
p.m. on Saturday, February 20th<br />
at the Unitarian-Universalist<br />
Church, 326 Main St., Wakefield.<br />
The special anniversary con-<br />
cert - the second this month - is<br />
part of the Linden Tree<br />
Coffeehouse's series of monthly<br />
folk music concerts, and admis-<br />
sion is only $9 because of partial<br />
funding by the Wakefield Council<br />
of the Mass. Arts Lottery.<br />
Composed of adoptive fami-<br />
lies from the Middlesex East<br />
area, the No Name Adoption<br />
Group sponsors approximately<br />
three family activities per year.<br />
This concert, however, is recom-<br />
mended as a parents' night out.<br />

TEWKSBURY - In the hope<br />
of becoming more competitive<br />
in attracting contractors, the<br />
Town of Tewksbury will now pay<br />
$75 - $5 more - per hour to heavy<br />
snow removal equipment con-<br />
tractors who work the front-end<br />
loaders and 10-wheel trucks<br />
needed during heavy snow-<br />
storms.<br />
According to Tewksbury DPW<br />
Superintendent Bill Burris in the<br />
"Town Crier," the state pays at<br />
least $5 per hour more than<br />
that. Tewksbury now pays $29<br />
per hour for 4-wheel-drive pick-<br />
up trucks; $32 for one-ton dump<br />
trucks; $38 for two-to-five-ton<br />
trucks; and $50.50 for 10-wheel-<br />
ers.<br />
MELROSE - The new proac-<br />
tive Melrose Human Rights<br />
Commission is working with the<br />
mayor and aldermen to estab-<br />
lish a civil rights library at City<br />
Hall and will be training volun-<br />
teer community mediators in<br />
conflict resolution and methods<br />
of responding to specific human<br />
rights incidents.<br />
Commission members include<br />
Sherrie St. Amant, Maurice<br />
Donovan, Peg Botte, Judith<br />
Clark, Joe Flatley, Ed McNeely,<br />
Thomas Rice, Edith Smolens,<br />
and Robert Wallace.<br />

LYNNFIELD - The Lynnfield<br />
Selectmen have formed a char-<br />
ter amendment committee to<br />
review the Town Meeting quo-<br />
rum procedure, the October<br />
Town Meeting having been<br />
delayed because of poor atten-<br />
dance.<br />
The present quorum require-<br />
ment - as determined by the 1971<br />
charter - is three percent of the<br />
number of registered voters.<br />
STONEHAM Stoneham's<br />
Town Meeting has approved a<br />
study committee J.o review the<br />
10-page Special Act which desig-<br />
naFes a Town Administrator<br />
form of government for the<br />
town.<br />
The Selectmen have appoint-<br />
ed the following members to the<br />
committee: Kim O'Neil, who<br />
was named chairman; Mildred<br />
Schweiger; Greg O'Keefe;<br />
Michael Rolli; and Eileen<br />
McDonough. The Town Modera-<br />
tor has appointed Annamae<br />
Arsenault and Cameron Bain.<br />
The committee will also con-<br />
sider submitting a separate war-<br />
Towns to S10.<br />
