PUPPETS IN ANDOVER
FEBRUARY 16TH
The Bennington Puppets are
coming to Andover to perform
the Sorcerer's Circus on
Tuesday, February 16.
One show will be presented at
the West Middle School, Shaw-
sheen Road, Andover at 1 p.m.
Tickets are $5 at the door and it
is wheelchair accessible.

Parish Nursery School of
Andover, a non-profit organiza-

OBSERVATORY NIGHT
ON FEBRUARY 18
The Harvard-Smithsonian
Center for Astrophysics in
Cambridge sponsors free pro-
grams on astronomy for the gen-
eral public on the third
Thursday of every month
throughout the year. The
"Observatory Nights" feature a
nontechnical lecture, a short
film or video, and telescopic
observing from the observatory
roof if weather permits.
The lectures are intended for
high-school-age and older audi-
ences but children are also wel-
come. Seating is limited and
available on a first-come, first-
served basis. Doors open at 7:30
p.m. and programs begin at 8
p.m. Parking is available.
The next evening will be
February 18 - "From the Big
Bang to Galaxies: The Missing
Billion Years" by George Field,
Center for Astrophysics.
Observatory Night programs
are held in the Phillips
Auditorium of the Center for
Astrophysics at 60 Garden
Street, Cambridge, about one
mile west of Harvard Square.
Entrance to the auditorium is at
the west of the Center complex,
near the Madison Street
entrance and large parking lot.

AUDITIONS IN BOSTON
FOR PRINCETON BALLET
The Princeton Ballet School
will hold an audition for its
Summer Workshop '93 on
Saturday, February 27, from
10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at The
Concord Academy Dance Studio,
Russell Robb Building, 166 Main
Street, Concord. The audition
will take the form of a ballet
class taught by Amy Spencer,
formerly with Twyla Tharp
Dance and Baryshnikov's White
Oak Project. Amy Spencer is co-
director with husband Richard
Colton of Spencer/Colton Dance,
a professional modern dance
company. There will be a $10
class fee.
In keeping with its commit-
ment to excellence in dance
training, the Princeton Ballet
School proudly offers Workshop
'93, now in its 30th year of sum-
mer dance training. Workshop
'93 is open to advanced students
age 14 and older by audition and
runs from June 28 through July
30. It features an exceptional
faculty headed by American
Repertory Ballet Company's
Artistic Director Marjorie
Mussman.
In addition to two to three
hours daily in ballet, students
have classes in pointe, partner-
ing, modern and jazz. A chore-
ography workshop will offer the
students an opportunity to exer-
cise creativity and develop com-
munications and leadership
skills. Through a series of lunch-
time seminars, students learn
injury prevention, nutrition,
auditioning and stage mSJ;.' up.
The 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. day
also provides rehearsals for a
final performance, giving stu-
dents the flavor of a professional
dancer's day. Field trips include
a trip to Lincoln Center for a
dance performance, canoeing,
swimming, and local music and
drama performances. Students
will be housed in dormitories on

A new Master of Science
degree program has been intro-
duced by Salem State College's
Geography Department and
Graduate School.
The innovative, multi-discipli-
nary program combines
advanced study in digital geog-
raphy, geology/geophysics and
mathematics. As part of the pro-
gram, students will work in the
$8 million Digital Geography
Laboratory (DGL) in the
Geography Department. The
DGL is a member of the
